DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Cancer Research Institute is requesting letters of in
 tent for its Clinic and Laboratory Integration Program (CLIP). CRI offers 
 CLIP grants to qualified scientists who are working to explore clinically 
 relevant questions aimed at improving the effectiveness of cancer immunoth
 erapies. The development of new and effective cancer treatment requires th
 e translation of basic laboratory discoveries into novel therapies that ca
 n be tested in patients. This area of translational research—where labor
 atory findings move into clinical testing and where questions from clinica
 l studies are brought back into the lab—is critical to bringing new and 
 better immunotherapies to patients.\n \nThe grant will support basic\, pr
 e-clinical\, and translational research that will provide information that
  can be directly applied to optimizing cancer immunotherapy in the clinic.
 \n \nDuration:      2 years\n \nFunding:       USD $200’000\n
  \nEligibility: Applicants must hold a faculty appointment as a tenure-tr
 ack assistant professor (or higher rank) at the time of award activation. 
 CRI has no citizenship restrictions\, and research supported by the award 
 may be conducted at medical schools and research centers in the United Sta
 tes or abroad.\n \nHow to Apply: The process for applying for a CLIP Gran
 t consists of two parts: a Letter of Intent\, and\, if invited\, a Full Ap
 plication. Letters of intent and associated supporting documents must be s
 ubmitted electronically through a special submission portal.\n \nApplicat
