DESCRIPTION:During the conference\, various subjects related to the geomec
 hanics\, including energy geostructures\, hydraulic stimulation\, induced 
 seismicity\, gas hydrates sediments\, nuclear waste disposal and carbon se
 questration were discussed among the scientists\, practitioners and the re
 presentatives of authorities. Keynote lectures were delivered by the most 
 prominent internationally recognized specialists in the field. The partici
 pants had the opportunity to take part in short course organized within CO
 ST Action TU 1405 as well as in the first Innovation Hub - a platform to b
 ring practitioners\, engineers and researchers to foster the debate around
  building the sustainable infrastructure systems and technology of tomorro
 w. The symposium was followed by the visit of the Mont Terri rock laborato
 ry\, an international research project for the hydrogeological\, geochemic
 al and geotechnical characterisation of a clay formation in the Swiss Jura
  region.
