DESCRIPTION:For the 2nd edition of the national Digital Day\, EPFL will b
 e one of the major hubs open to the public. Centered on our campus around 
 the theme of education in the digital age\, the event will propose activit
 ies including workshops\, guided tours\, exhibitions and scientific demons
 trations\, as well as two roundtables during an official ceremony attended
  by Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann. All activities are free.\n
 \nFrom 10:00 am to 5:00 pm\, the Rolex Learning Center will host a numb
 er of activities including booths\, scientific demos and interactive exhib
 itions organized by key EPFL actors in the domain of teaching\, the EPFL L
 ibrary\, media partners (Couleur 3\, RTS)\, and student associations (Octa
 nis\, Robopoly).\n\nAll through the day\, visits and workshops are also pl
 anned. The public will be able to discover the MED building\, its Discove
 ry Learning Labs\, remote learning rooms and connected building technology
 . ArtLab will open its doors\, with the discovery of the DataSquare pav
 ilion and guided tours of the Montreux Jazz Festival archives. Firmenich
 ’s Digital lab will offer the public the chance to learn about the lin
 k between artificial intelligence and fragrances and aromas. For children 
 aged 8 to 15\, the EPFL Science Outreach Department organises computer\
 , robotics and programming workshops.\n\nFrom 6:30pm onwards\, in the Foru
 m Rolex\, a public official ceremony will bring the festivities to a close
 . Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann will be present to open the c
 eremony with Martin Vetterli\, President of EPFL. Two roundtables on the 
 subject of digitilisation in the field of education will take place:\n\n	A
  roundtable « political outlook »\, with state councillors in charge o
 f education from the Vaud\, Valais and Ticino cantons: Cesla Amarelle\, Ch
 ristophe Darbellay and Manuele Bertoli\, as well as Pierre Vandergheynst\,
  EPFL Vice-president for education.\n	 \n	A roundtable « pedagogical ou
 tlook »\, with Luciana Vaccaro\, HES-SO Rector\, Alberto Piatti\, HEP Ti
 cino Director\, Francesco Mondada\, LEARN – EPFL Center Director\, Pierr
 e Dillenbourg\, EPFL Professor and Head of the Swiss EdTech Collider\, Jav
 ier Iglesias\, Teacher at the Gymnases de Renens\, Provence and Morges\, J
 ean-Pierre Hubaux\, Academic Director of the Center for Digital Trust (EPF
 L) and Diane Bernard-Bruls\, President of AGEPoly.\n\n \nThe roundtables 
 will be moderated Stéphane Benoit-Godet\, Editor in chief of Le Temps.\n
