DESCRIPTION:The Discovery Learning Labs will open their doors to the publi
 c\, giving you an inside view of this new hands-on approach to teaching an
 d cross-disciplinary teamwork. The Labs\, located inside the MED building\
 , are grouped by subject and give students a unique opportunity to work on
  projects related not only to their own sections\, but also – and above 
 all – to the many other disciplines at EPFL. Here they learn the value o
 f collaborating with peers from a variety of backgrounds.\n\nVisitors to t
 he MED building will also have a chance to see how the building itself is 
 used for research purposes and how connectivity is set to revolutionize di
 stance learning. Already a pioneer in the teaching of engineering and comp
 uter science and in applying technology across several fields\, EPFL simil
 arly strives to be at the forefront of new teaching methods and of transfe
