 Social and Cultural Research at Radboud University Nijmegen\, in the Nethe
 rlands. Her main research interests are gender and diversity in organisati
 ons\, organisational learning and processes of power and resistance. She i
 s an elected member of the prestigious Young Academy of the Royal Netherla
 nds Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her work has been published in many jou
 rnals\, including Journal of Management Studies\, Organization Studies\, O
 rganization\, Human Relations\, Gender\, Work & Organization\, Social Scie
 nce & Medicine\, Employee Relations. \nOn November 5th\, the Equality Prog
 ramme of the NCCR LIVES and the Equality Office of the University of Lausa
 nne will welcome a lecture by Prof. Marieke van den Brink from Radboud Uni
 versity Nijmegen\, in the Netherlands. She will unmask some persistent myt
 hs related to recruitment and selection which are often used to explain aw
