DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Epilepsy Therapy Project\, an initiative of the Epi
 lepsy Foundation\, is inviting entries that represent the most innovative 
 new ideas in epilepsy treatment and care for its eighth annual Shark Tank
  Competition. This award will support support the development and commerci
 alization of an important new product\, technology\, or therapeutic concep
 t to help people with epilepsy. Examples of Novel Concepts include:\n \n\
 n	Drug or device treatment that stops a seizure\, especially those already
  developed or approved for a different indication\n	System that helps pati
 ents manage their treatment or their epilepsy (less invasive\, less costly
  anti-epileptic drug measurement\, for example)\n	Device that prevents per
 sonal injury from a seizure\n	Any other concept that could improve the liv
 es of people with epilepsy potentially in the near future\n\n \nAll final
 ists will be invited to present their product concepts or candidates at th
 e 2019 Anti-Epileptic Drug & Device Trials\, scheduled for May 22-24\, 20
 19. The winning entry (or entries) will be selected through live voting by
  conference attendees\, and a panel of judges (Sharks) representing physic
 ians and scientists\, corporate executives\, leading industry investors\, 
 people with epilepsy\, and advocates. The project(s) deemed to be the most
  innovative will be announced at the conference\n\nFunding:       $20
 0\,000\n \nEligibility:     Applicants must demonstrate an ability to
  move the proposed plan to completion\, showing how the prize can accelera
 te any step along the path to market.\nApplicants may reside in any countr
 y. No specific background or experience is required.\n \nHow to Apply: A 
 Letter of Intent (LOI) should be submitted first. The proposal must includ
 e information about intellectual property\, a brief development outline wi
 th milestones for deliverables and an explanation of the potential impact 
 on people with epilepsy in terms of the creativity/ingenuity of the concep
 t. Finalists will be invited to present their product concepts or candidat
 es at the 2019 Anti-Epileptic Drug & Device Trials\, scheduled for May 22
