DESCRIPTION:Aim:  Health Canada has launched a challenge to improve on 
 drug checking technology to allow the community of people who use drugs an
 d those who support them to make more informed decisions based on the comp
 osition of a drug and to reduce harm. The challenge is to create a rapid\
 , accurate\, easy to use\, and low-cost testing device or instrument that 
 can be used with minimal training and preparation work. The main objective
 s are to:\n\n	Accelerate innovation to develop an ideal drug-checking devi
 ce or instrument to be used in a controlled environment\n	Provide more val
 uable information to people who use drugs and those who support them\, so 
 they can make informed choices\, which can help lower the risk of overdose
  deaths.\n	Increase uptake of drug-checking services with the goal of prov
 iding better and more valuable information to people who use drugs.\n\nFun
 ding:       CAD $25’000 (semi-finalists)\n            
           CAD $100’000 (grand prize)\n \nEligibility: The Chal
 lenge is open to any for-profit and not-for-profit organizations such as c
 ompanies\, industry associations\, Indigenous organizations and research a
 ssociations\, as well as post-secondary institutions.\n \nHow to Apply: T

 d here.  Selected semi-finalists (up to 10) will then compete in the seco
 nd stage with further developed prototypes. From this\, finalists (up to 5
 ) will be chosen and compete in the pilot phase for the grand prize (one w
