DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Cancer League and the Swiss Cancer Research foundati
 on call for Basic\, clinical\, epidemiological and psychosocial research p
 rojects with distinct cancer relevance\, contributing to new observations 
 or knowledge on the causes\, prevention or treatment of cancer. Priority i
 s given to patient-oriented research projects. Industry-related projects a
 re NOT supported.\nWho can apply: principle investigator with independent 
 position at a Swiss research institution and several years of research\, s
 uccessful in securing independent funding in the past\, several first auth
 or publications and at least 1 peer-reviewed article. The Co-PIs must be e
 mployed at a Swiss research institution.\n\nFunding: Max. CHF 375’000 fo
 r up to 48 months. \n \nEligible costs: \n\n	Personnel (excl. the PI’s)
 : use SNSF Salary scales for PhD students\; calculate 16% social charges f
 or any type of employee.\n	Consumables and miscellaneous expenses for appr
 ox. CHF 25’000.- per year for a FTE position but can in well-documented 
 cases make up to 50% of the yearly budget.\n	Collateral materials\n	Open a
 ccess publications (up to CHF 3’000 per publication).\n	Does NOT support
 : Overhead\, Travel & Conference costs (apply to Scientific Conferences gr
 ants).\n\n \nDeadline: 31 January and 31 July (23:59 Swiss local time) (e

 	Finally\, mail one signed hardcopy within 3 working days after the deadli
 ne.\n\n \nNote: Only one project per PI may be submitted per round. Rejec
 ted applications can be revised and re-submitted only once.  PIs can have
