DESCRIPTION:Paolo Nason (INFN\, Milan-Bicocca)\nThe abundant production of
top pairs at the LHC has provided an opportunity for accurate top mass m
easurements. The quoted errors of the LHC experimental collaborations hav
e reached values near 500 MeV\, to be halved in the future according to p
resent projections for the High Luminosity. Unfortunately\, several theor
etical issues have clouded the interpretation of these results. This has
led to a number of alternative proposals for top mass measurement strateg
ies\, but has also left the most precise results in a sort of "limbo"\, w
ith the hope that some theoretical work may clarify their meaning in the
future. In this talk I will discuss the present status of top mass measur
ement issues\, and I will present some recent work\, based upon the physi
cs of infrared renormalons\, aimed at clarifying at least some aspects of
  the problem.
