DESCRIPTION:The Wyss Center is a translational research center that accele
rates the development of neurotechnology research into clinical solutions
for human benefit.\n \nThe Wyss Center welcomes informal inquiries\, fr
om anywhere in the world\, about projects that could complement its existi
ng programs and make full use of the Wyss center’s research platforms an
 d human resources (e.g. neuroscientists\, engineers…).\n \nIt supports
projects as far as:\n\n	proof of principle in human trials and then\n	exit
prior to commercialization (incl. licensing\, joint ventures\, sale or sp
 in out as a startup).\n\n \nCurrent topics:\n\n\n	Movement restoration
 – Bionic nervous system to restore hand function\, communication and wa
lking.\n	Stroke rehabilitation – Precision stroke rehabilitation with n
ovel integrated neurotechnology and robotics.\n	Brain circuits – A minim
ally invasive diagnostic and therapy platform for epilepsy\, dyslexia and
  tinnitus.\n	Advanced technology projects:\n	\n Flexible electrodes.\n B
rain on a chip – High throughput in vitro human ‘mini-brains’ fo
r testing new microelectrode materials and geometries.\n Geneva array –
  novel multielectrode interface.\n	\n	\n\n \nEvaluation criteria:\n\n\n	T
he project must fill a technical need in an existing Wyss program\n	Is rea
dy to translate into clinical technology\n	Established design or proof of
concept\n	Freedom to operate without infringing existing IP\n\n \nFunding
& Duration: not specified\n \nApplication:\n\n\n	Submit your Letter of I
ntent all year round to administration@wysscenter.ch.\n	Submission of a fu
ll application is by invitation only (2 weeks after receipt of the LoI).\n
\n Specify 6 realistic and achievable monthly milestones.\n Ethical cle
arance is checked by both the Wyss Center and EPFL Research Office.\n	\n	\
n\n \nFor more information and application\, please follow this link and
have a look at the project requirements and FAQs.
