DESCRIPTION:Prof. Nicolas Giuseppone\nUniversity of Strasbourg\nSupramolec
ular electronics rests on the self-assembly of organic nanostructures that
display optimized charge transport properties and that can be readily int
egrated in miniaturized devices by a bottom-up approach. By controlling li
ght-responsive triarylamine molecules we have demonstrated the possibility
to pre-determine the self-construction of organic interconnects within mi
cro- and nano-circuitries. Along this main line\, we will describe the det
ailed mechanisms of the supramolecular polymerization which involves compl
ex nucleation/growth processes. We will show that supramolecular polymeriz
ation can be extended to a number of advanced triarylamine derivatives for
the production of various hierarchical structures in solution and in conf
ined spaces. We will also discuss the optical\, magnetic\, and electronic
properties of these supramolecular polymers which reveal metallic signatur
es. We will finally highlight how the presence of such metallic electrons
in these organic materials can be used for the formation of supramolecular
  plasmonic waveguides and interconnects.\n \nReference\nMoulin\, E.\; Arm
