DESCRIPTION:The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) launc
 hes the call for tenders INTENSE Project: ImproviNg Treatment adhErence iN
  people with diabeteS mEllitus\, which is supported\, in part\, by the Fre
 nch pharmaceutical company Servier.\n \nThe primary goal of this call for
  tender is to identify strategies enabling people with type 2 diabetes\, t
 heir carers and health care professionals to improve sustained adherence t
 o the mutually agreed treatment plan.\n \nThe project should include but 
 not necessarily be restricted to the following objectives:\n\n	Develop and
  validate new tools or implement existing methodology in the area of resea
 rch (e.g. assessment tools\, outcome measures\, use of big data)\n	Develop
  and validate new technology or implement existing technology (e.g. mobile
  technology/mHealth and associated apps\, eHealth\, social networking…)\
 n	Develop and validate new interventions or implement evidence-based inter
 ventions to improve sustained adherence (on the level of patients\, health
 care professionals\, carers and/or health care system)\n	Evaluate biomedic
 al\, economic and patient reported outcomes\, and their relationship to ad
 herence\n\n \nWho can apply:\n\n\n	clinical research groups based in the 
 EU or Associated Countries.\n	The PI and Co-PIs must be employed full-time
  at a non-profit institution and the study must be performed at their plac
 e of work.\n	Applicants to all EFSD programmes must be .\n	Only one EFSD a
 ward per PI or Co-PI at a time.\n	There can be more than one EFSD award pe
 r lab\, but for separate projects.\n\n \nFunding & Duration:\n\n\n	Max. E
 UR 500’000 for 36 months.\n	The budget must be prepared in EUR and it mu
 st mention the exchange rate.\n	Please mention all funding requested and o
 btained from other sources.\n	Eligible costs: personnel\, 10% OH\, equipme
 nt\, supplies\, other project-related costs.\n\n \nDeadline: 15 January 2
