DESCRIPTION:With the «Young Talents in Clinical Research» program\, the 
 Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) and the Gottfried and Julia Bange
 rter-Rhyner Foundation aim at encouraging young medical doctors to venture
  into clinical research by funding «protected time for research» and «p
 roject grants» at a clinic in Switzerland.\n \nResearch fields eligible 
 for support: patient-oriented research\, epidemiological studies\, outcome
 -based research and healthcare research. Basic research is NOT eligible.\n
  \nFunding instruments:\n\n	You must first apply for a Beginner grant: it
  finances «protected research time» with max. CHF 75’000 for 12-24 mon
 ths (2/3 as a grant and 1/3 as an interest-free loan).\n	Subsequently\, yo
 u can apply for a Project grant: finances a consecutive research project w
 ith max. CHF 80’000 for up to 24 months.\n\n \nWho can apply: medical d
 octors working in Switzerland.\n\n\n	Beginner grant: medical degree obtain
 ed after 29 June 2014 (flexible in justified cases). \n	Project grant: med
 ical degree obtained after 29 June 2011 (flexible in justified cases).\n	Y
 ou cannot apply and you cannot hold the Beginner and the Project grants at
  the same time.\n	Recipients of other types of grants or fellowships are n
 ot eligible to apply for project funding.\n\n \nEligible costs\n\n\n	Begi
 nner grant: covers the applicant’s salary\, but no consumables and equip
 ment.\n	Project grant: covers consumables and equipment\, but no applicant
 ’s salary.\n\n \nDeadline: 30 June 2019\nEarliest start: 1 January 2020
 \n \nApplication:\n\n\n	Fill out the online application form following th
 e guidelines (incl. evaluation criteria).\n	Join a budget specifying the 
 percentage of your salary reserved for research.\n	Join letters of support
  from an experienced mentor at the host clinic and from the department res
