 research studies the effects of business-school education on the long-run 
 performance of manufacturing industry. Specifically\, the project examines
  the creation and development of business schools in the US\, and its infl
 uence on manufacturing firms’ long-run outcomes\, such as employment\, p
 roductivity\, and profitability. The results might help us understand the 
 divergent\, fast-growing path that American industries took since the late
  19th century\, and contribute to contemporary policy discussions on how t
 o use professional education to boost economic growth in the developing wo
 rld.\n
