DESCRIPTION:Aim: The mission of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Init
 iative (SFARI) is to improve the understanding\, diagnosis and treatment o
 f autism spectrum disorders (ASD) by funding innovative research of the hi
 ghest quality and relevance.\n \nGrants awarded through this request for 
 applications (RFA) will support the development and validation of clinical
 ly relevant outcome measures that will sensitively and reliably distinguis
 h treatment effects from placebo response on the core symptoms of ASD (i.e
 .\, impairment in social communication and social interaction\; restricted
 /repetitive behaviors\, interests and activities\; and sensory symptoms).\
 n \nDuration: 2 or 3 years\n \nFunding: USD $300’000 per year\, includ
 ing indirect costs.\n \nEligibility: All applicants and key collaborators
  must hold a PhD\, MD\, or equivalent degree and have a faculty position o
 r the equivalent. There are no citizenship or country requirements.\n \nH
