DESCRIPTION:On February 1st\, 2019 the SNSF launches SPIRIT\, a new progra
 m aimed at fostering international scientific collaboration between resear
 chers based in Switzerland and their counterparts in 127 SPIRIT partner co
 untries receiving development assistance. A highly competitive selection p
 rocess is in place\, with 12 projects being funded per year.\n \nWho can 
 apply: \n\n	Max. 4 applicants.\n	At least 1 applicant at a higher educatio
 n or research institution in Switzerland.\n	At least 1 applicant at a high
 er education\, research institution or ONG in SPIRIT partner countries (li
 st in section 1.2 at this link). Note that applicants based at EU member a
 nd associated countries\, as well as in countries participating in a bilat
 eral call with the SNSF are NOT eligible.\n	Applicants must be either empl
 oyed or given a written assurance of such employment at the time of submis
 sion.\n	for at least 4 years at the submission or 3 years of research work
  as main source of income.\n	Must be in a position to carry out research p
 rojects under their own responsibility and to lead project staff both scie
 ntifically and as personnel.\n	Gender promotion: scientific quality being 
 equal\, preference will be given to women scientists or to proposals showi
 ng better gender awareness in the research project and team.\n	Project par
 tners are eligible if their contribution is necessary and does not serve a
 ny commercial purposes.\n\n \nFunding and duration: min. CHF 50’000 and
  max. CHF 500’000 for min. 2 and max. 4 years.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: Per
 sonnel\, Expendable items\, Field expenses\, Travel\, Subcontracting\, Com
 puting time and data\, Open access to research data\, Direct costs of infr
 astructure use\, Conference and workshops\, Gender awareness activities\, 
 National and international cooperation and networking activities\, Equipme
 nt (if > CHF 100’000 in total\, contact research@epfl.ch 3 weeks prior t
 o the deadline) and\, for the applicant in a SPIRIT partner country\, 5% f
 or general costs. Finally\, project partners can request the following cos
 ts: Designing databases or websites\, Data preparation and analysis\, Recr
 uiting patients\, Curating biobanks\, Elaborating legal reviews.\n	Does NO
 T cover: applicants’ salary\, open access publications and\, for the Swi
 ss applicants\, overheads.\n\n\nDeadline: any time\n\n\n	Deadline for pre-
 proposals: any time\n\n        Invitation to submit a full-proposa
 l/rejection letter: within 4 months\n\n\n	Deadline for full proposal: with
 in 2 months after receiving the invitation to submit.\n	Deadline for reinf
