DESCRIPTION:The goal of the Frick Foundation for Research on ALS is to enc
 ourage basic biomedical research to understand the basic causes of amyotro
 phic lateral sclerosis (ALS).\n \nTo this end\, the foundation launches a
 nnual calls to support\, anywhere in the world\, two-three talented early-
 career scientist per year in their path towards scientific independence.\n
 Note: these awards are NOT directed to clinically related projects for pat
 ient care.\n \nWho can apply:\n\n	early-career scientists who have alread
 y produced excellent supervised work\, ready to work independently and sho
 wing potential to be research leaders.\n	Any nationality \n	5 years of exp
 erience since completion of their PhD\n	Employed at a public or private re
 search institution anywhere in the world.\n\n \nFunding and duration: CHF
  100’000 for 24 months\nNote: does not cover the applicant’s salary an
 d overheads.\n \nDeadline: 30 September 2019\nDecision: December 2019\n
