DESCRIPTION:Established in Glasgow in 1985\, the Scottish Cot Death Trust 
 supports research worldwide that contributes to global understanding of th
 e pathology and risk factors of sudden unexpected death in infancy. Resear
 ch proposals must demonstrate clear relevance to the issue of cot death an
 d have potential for prevention or other clinical or public health benefit
 . The charity encourages co-operative and collaborative research as a mean
 s of accelerating progress towards new knowledge and understanding of cot 
 deaths.\n \nWho can apply: researchers worldwide.\n \nFunding and durati
 on: grants are usually between £30\,000 – £80\,000 each for up to 36 m
 onths.\n \nApplications are accepted all year round.\n\n	Pre-proposal: su
 bmit a 2-3 page research plan to contact@scottishcotdeathtrust.org\, speci
 fying the amount and duration of the requested funds and the relevance of 
 your research to the Trust’s mission.\n	Full proposal (on invitation).\n
 \n \nApplications are assessed through a stringent\, highly competitive p
 eer review process. Final decisions are made by the trustees on recommenda
 tion by the Trust’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC).\n \nFor furthe
