DESCRIPTION:Aim: The mission of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Init
 iative (SFARI) is to improve the understanding\, diagnosis and treatment o
 f autism spectrum disorders (ASD) by funding innovative research of the hi
 ghest quality and relevance.\n \nThe Pilot Award seeks to provide early s
 upport for exploratory ideas\, particularly those with novel hypotheses. A
 ppropriate projects for this mechanism include those considered higher ris
 k but with the potential for transformative results. In particular\, Simon
 s Foundation encourages applications that propose research to link genetic
  or other ASD risk factors to molecular\, cellular\, circuit or behavioral
  mechanisms of ASD.\n \nDuration: 24 months\n \nFunding: USD 300’000\n
  \nEligibility: All applicants and key collaborators must hold a PhD\, MD
 \, or equivalent degree and have a faculty position or the equivalent.  T
