DESCRIPTION:Gebert Rüf Stiftung (GRS) was established in 1998 by entrepre
 neur Heinrich Gebert as a science and innovation foundation. Its objective
  is to promote «Switzerland as a top location for business and as a place
  to live». As a private funding agency guided by its mission statement «
 making science effective»\, it supports entrepreneurial projects\, which 
 are committed to achieving an impact.\n \nGRS has opened a new area of ac
 tivity\, Cluster funding\, endowed with CHF 0.5 million in 2019\, to suppo
 rt outstanding projects\, which contribute to network\, shape and compleme
 nt GRS topics and areas of activity.\n \nThe objective is to lock more in
 tensively into synergies between the actors and achieve the necessary crit
 ical mass for effective implementation in societal and business domains.\n
  \nProjects from all disciplines and from a very wide range of contexts a
 re welcome.\n \nSupport criteria for cluster projects:\n\n	Proven network
 ability\n	Close connection to GRS topics and areas of activity\n	Highly in
 novative and original\n	Exemplary\n	Projects of Swiss-wide significance\n	
 Major potential for initial funding\n\n \nWho can apply: applicants emplo
 yed within a Swiss institution of higher education or research (ETH Domain
 \, university\, university of applied sciences) or an non-profit organizat
 ion. Non independent researchers at EPFL must join a Letter of Support fro
 m the Head of their Unit.\n \nFunding: no upper or lower limit.\n\n\n	Eli
 gible costs: Salaries and Material costs\n	Does NOT cover: Infrastructure\
 , Equipment and Overheads.\n\n \nDeadlines:\n\n\n	Informal Access: submit
  a 1-2 page abstract to idee@grstiftung.ch well ahead of the deadline for 
 proposals\n	Proposal: 1 February\, 1 May\, 1 September and 1 December (eve
 ry year) at 23:59 (Decision after 3 months)\n	Application: 1 March\, 15 Ma
