DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned ETHZ as Leading House for bilateral research colla
 boration with the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).\n
  \nETHZ and JSPS run the Japanese – Swiss Young Researcher’s Exchange
  Programme to:\n\n	foster and facilitate the direct exchange between Japan
 ese and Swiss research groups and\n	enable the mobility of young researche
 rs\, allowing them to learn a new technique or use infrastructure directly
  relevant to their current research project.\n\n \nThe programme supports
  3-6 months research stays in any disciplines \n\n\n	in Japan for Swiss-ba
 sed young researchers (funded by JSPS) and\n	in Switzerland for young rese
 archers from Japan (funded by ETHZ).\n\n \nWho can apply\n\n\n	Swiss-base
 d applicants: PhD students\, in justified cases young postdocs and in exce
 ptional cases Master students employed at Swiss universities\, universitie
 s of applied sciences\, universities of teacher education and research ins
 titutes. Who can NOT apply: Japanese nationals and former grantees under t
 he JSPS’s Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign Researchers.\n	Host resea
 rchers in Japan: employed full-time (excluding jokyo\, assistant professor
  and joshu\, research assistant) at an eligible institution.\n	Applicants 
 based in Japan\, who are interested in a research stay in Switzerland\, mu
 st apply via JSPS.\n\n \nFunding:\n\n\n	For Swiss-based applicants: month
 ly allowance of JPY 220’000\, international air ticket and overseas trav
 el insurance.\n	For applicants based in Japan: monthly allowance of CHF 2
 ’500 and international air ticket.\n\n \nDuration: 3-6 months\n \nDead
