Quantifying Oligomeric Alphasynuclein | Research funding ]

CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Michael J. Fox Foundation will award one-year grants
for research to advance the development\, optimization and validation of a
ssays to quantify oligomeric alpha-synuclein in human body fluids. These b
iofluids may include blood\, cerebrospinal fluid\, saliva and tears. Prior
research suggests that alpha-synuclein quantification in accessible body
fluids may serve as a biomarker of disease diagnosis\, target engagement\,
  pharmacodynamic response and/or patient stratification.\n\n	Immuno-assays
should have a renewable source of the antibodies used. Optimization and/o
r adaptation of existent assays to different biological matrices will also
be considered.\n	Projects should propose to develop or optimize assays wi
th superior performance in quantifying oligomeric alpha-synuclein and\, at
the end of the grant\, should be able to present several performance para
meters for further validation such as robustness\, precision\, trueness\,
uncertainty\, limits of detection and quantification\, dilutional linearit
 y\, parallelism\, recovery\, selectivity\, and sample stability.\n\n \nFu
 nding:        Maximum USD $200’000\n
         \nDuration:      12 months\n
\nEligibility: Researchers at all academic levels at o
r above Assistant Professor are eligible to apply. Post-doctoral fellows a
re eligible to apply as co-investigators with the designation of an admini
strative primary investigator who directs the laboratory in which the fell
ow will conduct research.\n \nHow to Apply: The pre-proposal is the first
step in the application. Pre-proposals must be completed in the online ap
plication portal.  Successful applicants will be given further instructio
 ns for submitting a full proposal.\n \nDeadline (Pre-proposal): 19 April
 2019 (5:00 pm EST)\nDeadline (Full Application\, by invitation): 19 July 2
 019 (5:00 pm EST)\n \nFurther information\n\n\n	See the official webpage
for more details\, or download the RFA\n	Find the application portal here
\n	Participate in the MJFF funding opportunities webinar on 01 April to le
