DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Pharmacotherapies for Alcohol and Substance Abuse (PA
 SA) consortium is funded by the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Disorders Rese
 arch Program.  The goal of the PASA consortium is to fund study applicati
 ons for developing new medications that can be brought to therapeutic use 
 to improve treatment outcomes for alcohol and substance use disorders (ASU
 D)\, especially as related to post-traumatic  stress disorder (PTSD) and 
 traumatic brain injury (TBI).\n \nThe two current Research Funding Opport
 unities are focused on:\n\n	Request for Application (RFA) #4a: Small-cost 
 and short-duration planning grant awarded to investigators concerning a sp
 ecific compound or combination of compounds. Designed to determine the cli
 nical development plan and associated clinical trials needed to advance th
 e compound to FDA approval for ASUD treatment. The protocol for the first 
 study will be developed as part of the planning grant and will be consider
 ed for funding and implementation by the PASA Consortium.\n	Request for Ap
 plication (RFA) #4b: Full study implementation awards for the conduct of p
 roof-of-principle basic research to determine which compounds are most app
 ropriate for human research trials.\n\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $150’000
 \n \nDuration: 9-12 months\n \nHow to Apply: The first step is submissio
 n of a Letter of Intent. If interest is shown by the program coordinators\
