DESCRIPTION:Prof. Hannes Bleuler    \nEngineering is about people! Whi
le preparing my lectures and advising my PhD students\, I naturally came a
cross many exceptionally creative figures. Most are of course famous and w
ell known\, they developed « mainstream » science and technology. Some
of these figures\, however\, have been quite forgotten\, maybe just becau
se they were ahead of their time or otherwise did not fit into what was th
en considered « Mainstream » . I will present some of these men and wo
men\, their achievements and what they have contributed to today’s scien
