DESCRIPTION:The Waterloo Foundation (TWF) was established in Cardiff (UK) 
 in 2007. It supports projects worldwide that help reduce the disparity of 
 opportunities and wealth and the unsustainable use of the world’s natura
 l resources. To this end\, the foundation publishes calls within the follo
 wing grant programmes: world development\, environment and child developme
 nt.\n \nApplications are currently open for the Child Development Fund fo
 r basic and applied research projects on the following topics: \n\n1. Mot
 or Impairments\n\n	studies that improve our understanding of the aetiology
  of the disorder (this could include brain imaging\, improved phenotyping\
 , genetic or epigenetic studies). Inclusion of EEG measures and considerat
 ion of possible co-occurrence with Rolandic Epilepsy is particularly desir
 able\, as well as studies that consider co-occurrence with other neurodeve
 lopmental disorders\; or\n	Studies that explore effective interventions (t
 hose that also include links to our other research interests would be part
 icularly sought after for example sleep\, diet\, exercise/movement).\n\n2.
  Diet and/or Microbiome\n\n\n	studies that consider the effect of diet an
 d/or the microbiome on neurodevelopmental disorders. Those that consider t
 hese areas on child psychological outcomes (behavioural\, emotional or cog
 nitive) will also be welcomed.\n	studies that explore the influence of pre
 natal factors and in a range of vitamins and minerals (including but not l
 imited to Omega-3\, Vitamin D and Iodine).\n\n \nWho can apply: researche
 rs holding a PhD and employed at an academic institution anywhere in the w
 orld.\n \nFunding: min. £40’000 max. £60’000.\nEligible costs:\n\n	
 Personnel costs: salary costs for early postdoctoral researchers are encou
 raged over doctoral salaries. Doctoral salaries are eligible for funding\,
  but must be co-funded by the host institutions. The foundation does not c
 over the salary of permanent staff members.\n	1 open access publication.\n
 	Conference costs (fees and travel costs\, max. 5% of the budget).\n	Scien
 tific dissemination activities.\n	Does not cover overheads.\n\nNote: the f
 oundation does not wish to be the sole funder. Hence\, you must demonstrat
 e that you have secured or that you are seeking other funding for the proj
 ect.\n \nDuration: no upper or lower limit (typically 12-36 months\, usua
 lly 18 months).\n \nDeadline: 30 June 2019 at 24h00.\nAll applications mu
