DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Peer Reviewed C
 ancer Research Program (PRCRP) for 2019. The Horizon Award supports junior
 -level scientists in conducting impactful research with the mentorship of 
 an experienced cancer researcher (i.e.\, Mentor).  The Horizon Award chal
 lenges junior scientists to develop and implement research in the cancer f
 ield.  This opportunity allows for junior investigators to develop a rese
 arch project\, investigate a problem or question in the field of cancer\, 
 and further their intellectual development as a cancer researcher of the f
 uture. \n \nTo be considered for funding\, applications for the FY19 PRC
 RP Horizon Award must address at least one of the FY19 PRCRP Topic Areas a
 s directed by Congress. In addition\, applications must also address at le
 ast one of the FY19 PRCRP Military Relevance Focus Areas. These lists are 
 given at the end of this announcement.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 150’0
 00\n \nDuration: 2 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from international 
 organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no cit
 izenship restrictions. Both predoctoral candidates (within 2 years of PhD 
 completion) and postdoctoral fellows (within 3 years of PhD completion) ar
 e eligible to be the principal investigator. The Mentor must be an experie
 nced cancer researcher as demonstrated by a strong record of active fundin
 g and publications. The PI and Mentor must be at the same organization.\n
  \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platfor
 m. They should contain contact information\, a list of collaborators and k
 ey personnel\, a letter of intent\, and supporting documents as suggested 
 on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will be made via a Gran
