DESCRIPTION:Thanks to an annual contribution of CHF 250’000 by the Käth
 e Zingg-Schwichtenberg (KZS) Fund\, the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences 
 (SAMS) supports research projects by junior researchers in biomedical ethi
 cs. The 2019 call for proposals is thematically open. However\, in the eve
 nt of applications of equal scientific quality\, preference will be given 
 to projects in the field of clinical and public health ethics. \n \nKZS 
 Seed Grants are meant to allow grantees to explore novel research ideas\, 
 to realize a small\, independent pilot project and/or to prepare their own
  project proposal to be submitted to a larger funding agency. The objectiv
 e of the call is to support junior researchers to establish a record of in
 dependent research and facilitate the transition to the next step of their
  academic career.\n \nWho can apply: \n\n	Doctoral and postdoctoral\, non
 -tenured researchers\, aiming at an academic career in the field of biomed
 ical ethics and active at a research institution in Switzerland by the tim
 e of the submission deadline and for the intended duration of the grant.\n
 \n \nFunding & Duration:\n\n\n	max. CHF 50'000 for up to 12 months.\n	Eli
 gible costs: project-related costs and a portion of the PI’s salary.\n\n
  \nDeadline for Letter of Intent: 15 June 2019\nDeadline for full applica
 tion: 1 October 2019 (upon invitation)\nEvaluation by the KZS Committee.\n
 Start of the project: between 1 December 2019 and 1 June 2020.\n \nFor in
