DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Autism Research
  Program (ARP) for 2019. The Idea Development Award supports the developme
 nt of innovative\, high-risk/high-reward research that could lead to criti
 cal discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate progress in imp
 roving outcomes for individuals with ASD. This award mechanism is designed
  to support innovative ideas with the potential to yield impactful data an
 d new avenues of investigation.\n \nProjects are required to involve huma
 n subjects. Projects that are strictly animal research aimed at developing
  or refining new technology and research to establish the efficacy/effecti
 veness of diagnostic agents are not allowed under this funding opportunity
 . The proposed studies should include early-phase\, proof-of-principle stu
 dies using human subjects. The proposed studies may be interventional\, in
 cluding Phase 0 clinical trials or single-group intervention studies\, and
  may involve some retrospective data analysis\; however\, purely retrospec
 tive or database-related research is not allowed.\n \nApplications are st
 rongly encouraged to address one of the ARP  Areas of Interest. These are
  listed at the end of this announcement.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 500
 ’000\n \nDuration: 3 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from internatio
 nal organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no
  citizenship restrictions. Investigators at the level of Assistant Profess
