 nal Day of Light!\n\nThis initiative was proclaimed by the UNESCO to pr
 omote the progress and promise of light technologies and research\, an
 d to raise awareness about their importance to humankind. The EPFL Phot
 onics Chapter invites you to join the EPFL IDL celebration on May 16th
  in SV 1717 starting at 4:00 PM. This year the event will include a s
 eries of presentations from all the aspects of Light from academia to indu
 stry and art. \n\nFor this occasion\, we will have the pleasure to host 
 Prof. Monika Ritsch-Marte (Biomedical Optics Lab\, Medical University of 
 Innsbruck)\, who will give a lecture entitled:\n\n            
                 "LIGHT IN LIFE SCIENCES"\n\nThe talk is he
 ld in the frame of the OSA travelling lecturer programme.\n\nMoreover\, w
 e are glad to open the EPFL "International Day of Light" Photo Contest 
 in collaboration with the EPFL Photo Club. The theme we propose is: "Th
 e Game of Lights". \n\nThe apero is sponsored by the Swissphotonics and
