  this talk\, I will report on work in progress with Carlos de Vera Piquero
  and Matteo Longo whose goal is to develop a generalization of the theory 
 of Bertolini and Darmon to the case of elliptic curves whose associated Ga
 lois representations are supercuspidal at an odd prime p. The main tool is
  the study of de Rham cohomology on an etale cover of the p-adic upper hal
 f plane.
