DESCRIPTION:The Wellcome Trust “Collaborative Awards in Science” suppo
 rt Basic and clinical research in any disciplines carried out by a team of
  researchers\, working together on the most important scientific problems 
 to improve health for everyone. \nInterdisciplinary projects across Scienc
 e\, Humanities and Social Science and Innovations teams are encouraged.\n
  \nWho can apply\n\n	The PI must be based in UK\, Ireland or a Low or Mid
 dle income country.\n	Swiss-based researchers can only join a consortium i
 f they bring essential expertise or resources.\n	The consortium must have 
 between 2-7 members. Each applicant must be essential and bring different 
 expertise.\n	Applicants must have a permanent\, open-ended or long-term ro
 lling contract\, or the guarantee of one and have their covered by other s
 ources for the duration of the grant.\n\n \nFunding & Duration: Max. £4 
 million for up to 5 years\n\n\n	Covers: personnel (salary for all research
  staff involved\; excluding the  salary of applicants’ outside the UK/L
 ow or middle income countries)\, materials and consumables\, animals\, pur
 chase of essential equipment (incl. VAT\; if equipment > CHF 100’000 25%
  of its cost must be covered with own funding)\, one personal computer or 
 laptop per person\, access to essential equipment or facilities\, travel\,
  conference and subsistence costs\, field research\, publications\, other.
 \n	Does NOT cover: overheads\, open access article processing charges and\
 , for researchers outside of the UK\, clinical studies or trials.\n\n \nD
