 verb    \n\nArchitecture is normally associated with specific types of des
 ign activity\, realization processes\, and concrete\, by-and-large inhabit
 able\, artifacts. As such\, it is considered the province of a specific pr
 ofession\, separate from engineering\, urban planning\, material science\,
  environmental design\, regional development.\n \nWhat would happen if we
  interpreted the word architect as a verb – to architect\, that is? Woul
 d it be equivalent to designing or engineering? Would it change the concep
 tual dimension of the work and the position of those who practice it? Woul
 d it require different analytical approaches to building as an intellectua
 l problem? Most importantly\, what sort of deliberative actions would defi
 ne ‘architecture’ in this context?\n \nTrying to answer these questio
 ns within a university is both unsettling and exhilarating. Unsettling bec
 ause it implies disturbance of language conventions and\, most importantly
 \, disciplinary foundations\; exhilarating because it opens up possibiliti
 es for intellectual exchanges and social impact hitherto unknown.\n \nDoe
 s technology have a specific role to play in bringing architecture-as-a-ve
 rb to fruition? If so\, what kind of technology?
