DESCRIPTION:Travel Less Without Loss is one of the sustainability initiati
 ves of the EPFL School of Life Sciences. The intiative grew out of the kno
 wledge that approximately 30 percent of EPFLs carbon footprint is attribut
 ed to business travel.\nThe project aims to identify ways to decrease the 
 carbon footprint caused by scientific related travel with the least disrup
 tion to the advancement of science and to the careers of scientists. It is
  a feasibility study to determine the requirements and potential impact of
  remote conferencing facilities designed by and implemented at EPFL to con
 nect scientists locally and globally.\nThe goal is to improve accessibilit
 y to scientific conferences\, data and results\, while not neglecting the 
 importance of social contact in such events. Travel Less Without Loss aims
  to significantly reduce travelling not to abolish it.\nThe School of Life
  Sciences\, in collaboration with Campus Durable\, has developed a set of 
 guidelines to promote sustainable travel by EPFL-SV scientists\, staff and
  students.\nA variety of posters and exhibitions providing information on 
 the effect of business travel will be displayed throughout the SV hall to 
 provide SV Faculty\, Staff and Students data used to support the developme
 nt of the SV Travel Guidelines and Best Practices.\nAuthors of the guideli
 nes and best practices will be on hand on June 4 between 11h and 14h to ex
 plain the data\, discuss and gather your ideas\, listen to your feedback o
 n the Guidelines and Best Practices.\nThis event will provide opportunitie
 s for exchange of information and ideas\, promote environmental awareness 
 and demonstrate to our fellow schools and colleagues SVs leadership and wi
 llingness to act responsibly for the benefit of our planet.\nThe exhibitio
 n will be open until June 12.
