CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim: The foundation’s Maternal\, Newborn and Child Health (M
NCH) strategy aims to expand coverage of packages of interventions that ar
e tailored to vulnerable populations to reduce preventable maternal and ne
onatal deaths. A priority focus area is antenatal and postnatal care (ANC
and PNC) platforms – both strengthening their foundations in order to me
et current and future WHO guidelines\, but also innovating both the platfo
rms and the services offered on the platforms to further improve service d
elivery and quality of care. While current program partners develop and te
st these innovations for clinical efficacy and effectiveness in controlled
settings\, there is a need for implementation research in more generaliza
ble settings to adapt ANC and PNC innovations and understand pathways to s
cale.\n \nFor this award\, the grantee will conduct implementation resear
ch with the goal of improving ANC and PNC service delivery and related hea
lth outcomes\, and will learn and share how the selected innovations achie
ved these outcomes. The Foundation seeks partners who can help strategize
and execute a multi-country implementation research agenda to improve serv
ice delivery that will answer the following question (in collaboration wit
h host governments): How can supply and demand-side innovations spur incre
ased a) early initiation of ANC\, b) continuity of ANC and PNC visits\, c)
quality of care and d) a system more responsive to women’s needs?\n \n
 Funding: No pre-determined ceiling\; project dependent.\n \nDuration: Max
imum 5 years.\n \nEligibility: We will consider funding for organizations
that have the necessary expertise and can deliver high quality\, timely r
esults and work in a collaborative way with our team and partners. Private
\, NGO\, government\, and academic organizations are all eligible for fund
ing.\n \nHow to Apply: As a first step\, a concept note must be submitted
  containing a research narrative\, budget\, and biographical information f
or project staff. The concept note can be uploaded on the online applicati
on portal. Successful applicants will then be invited to submit a full pro
 posal.\n \nConcept Note Deadline: 10 June 2019\n \nFurther information\n
\n	More details on the call can be found on the website and in the RFP doc
ument.\n	For any other questions\, contact the Research Office.\n
