DESCRIPTION:Are you frustrated with the current research culture? What w
ould your ideal research environment look like? Are you ready to start
making these small positive changes today?    Research culture describe
s the values\, norms and expectations of researchers and influences aspe
cts such as research integrity\, openness\, inclusivity\, academic career
trajectories and the peer review system. It affects the environment\, the
people and ultimately\, the quality of research. \n  After the success
of the “We Scientists 2035 Workshop Day” that took place in Februar
y at UNIL\, we are organizing the first workshop of this kind here at E
PFL on  July 16th at 16:00  (room CM 1 105)  to brainstorm as a comm
unity about the “Research Culture” we want for our future\, and to pl
ant the seeds for change today!   The workshop will last about 2h30 and
will be followed by an apéro during which discussion will continue and m
ore ideas will emerge.     The workshop is developed by the Swiss Acad
emy of Sciences (SCNAT) and uses speculative design scenarios to encourag
e novel thinking about what an idealised research culture would look like.
Through discussions and a series of brainstorming activities\, participan
ts will be equipped to start with small positive changes in their research
environments. For more information on the workshops\, you can take a l
ook at the video here. (Follow on Twitter)   This event is open to res
earchers at all career stages\, as well as non-scientific personnel in
terested in these questions\, and we strongly encourage diversity here.
This first workshop is limited to 50 participants and is on a firs
t come - first served basis.     If you are interested in participating
in this (or in a future) workshop\, please fill out this form by July
2nd.  If you are among the first 50 people to register\, you will receive
a confirmation e-mail latest by July 8th with additional details.  Ple
ase note that by registering\, you make a commitment to be present at the
  workshop.
