DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Cancer Research Institute is requesting letters of in
 tent for its Clinic and Laboratory Integration Program (CLIP). CRI offers 
 CLIP grants to qualified scientists who are working to explore clinically 
 relevant questions aimed at improving the effectiveness of cancer immunoth
 erapies. The program supports pre-clinical and translational research th
 at can be directly applied to optimizing cancer immunotherapy in the clini
 c.\n \nSpecial update for 2019: In partnership with the Chordoma Foundati
 on\, CRI has secured designated funding that will provide for additional C
 LIP grants focused on topics related to accelerating the development of ef
 fective treatments and ultimately a cure for chordoma\, a rare type of can
 cer that occurs in the bones of the skull base and spine. Proposals in thi
 s area are encouraged.  \n \nIn addition\, CRI has obtained designated f
 unding that will provide for a limited number of additional CLIP grants fo
 cused on topics related to biomarkers\, including such topics as tumor mut
 ational burden\, microbiome\, host genomic factors\, and others. Proposals
  in this area are also encouraged.\n \nDuration:      2 years\n \nFu
 nding:       USD $200’000\n \nEligibility: Applicants must hold a 
 faculty appointment as a tenure-track assistant professor (or higher rank)
  at the time of award activation. CRI has no citizenship restrictions\, an
 d research supported by the award may be conducted at medical schools and 
 research centers in the United States or abroad.\n \nHow to Apply: The pr
 ocess for applying for a CLIP Grant consists of two parts: a Letter of Int
 ent\, and\, if invited\, a Full Application. Letters of intent and associa
 ted supporting documents must be submitted electronically through a specia
