 pression? Certainly not! On the contrary\, the recently published 17 susta
 inable development goals of the United Nations strive to give a sound guid
 eline for a sustainable future.\nHydraulic infrastructures and water syste
 ms play a crucial role in achieving these goals by storing water used for 
 drinking and irrigation\, and providing renewable energy and infrastructur
 e for hazard mitigation. However\, a sustainable use implies integrated re
 servoir sediment management\, ecological connectivity of the water system\
 , rehabilitation and efficiency increase of existing infrastructure as wel
 l as resilience and adaptive strategies coping with climate change.\n \nT
 his talk gives examples on successful reservoir sediment management\, ecol
 ogical connectivity of water systems as well as resilience increase of hyd
 raulic infrastructures.\n
