DESCRIPTION:The Hasler Stiftung promotes Information and Communications Te
 chnology (ICT) for the well-being and benefit of Switzerland as an intelle
 ctual and industrial centre. The Foundation mainly supports educational\, 
 research and innovation projects where the aim is to promote the further d
 evelopment of ICT or innovative applications of ICT. With regards to resea
 rch\, the Foundation supports original and scientifically sophisticated re
 search projects at Swiss universities\, which are relevant for ICT theory 
 or practice\, which promote education in ICT\, and which address the socia
 lly relevant effects of ICT.\n \nThe Hasler Stiftung Open Support program
 me for Small projects (max. CHF 50K) and Standard projects support pre-com
 petitive scientific or technical research projects in the general field of
  ICT in cases where public funding (e.g. SNSF/Innosuisse) cannot be access
 ed. Projects must be based in Switzerland. The Foundation supports project
 s that promote education in ICT\, address the social effects of ICT or int
 erdisciplinary projects where findings from or cooperation with other disc
 iplines stimulate ICT.\n \nThese grants support:\n\n	stand-alone projects
 \,\n	projects that help prepare for public funding applications or\n	the c
 ontinuation of completed SNSF/Innosuisse/other grants.\n\n \nWho can appl
 y: \n\n\n	The principal investigator must be employed by a higher educatio
 n\, research institution or non-profit organisation in Switzerland. Compan
 ies and individuals are not eligible.\n	Non-independent PIs must join a le
 tter of support from the head of their unit (“backer”). Submit the let
 ter to research@epfl.ch at least 7 days prior to the deadline for institut
 ional countersignature. \n\n \nFunding and Duration: \n\n\n	Small Projec
 ts: Max. CHF 50’000 for up to 12 months.\n	Standard Projects: No maximum
  funding for up to 36 months.\n\n \nRolling call\n\n\n	Small projects: de
 cision reached in 30 days.\n	Standard projects: contact the Foundation pri
 or to the submission. Decision reached in approx. 8 months.\n\n \nFor fur
