DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1996\, the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation is France’
 s number one funder for research in genetic intelligence disorders conduct
 ed in France and abroad. \n \nIf you are a researcher investigating on Do
 wn syndrome and other intellectual disabilities from genetic origin appear
 ing in early childhood\, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Jerome Lejeu
 ne Foundation invites you to submit:\n\n	research projects on patients wit
 h Down syndrome (Research on Down syndrome should globally represent more 
 than 50% of the overall annual amount) or\n	more basic research on human c
 hromosome 21\; or\n	research on patients with rare intellectual deficit fr
 om genetic origin.\n\n \nThe call supports fundamental\, translational\, 
 epidemiological\, clinical research (prioritized)\, neurobiology\, and pha
 rmacology including animal pharmacology\, genetic\, genomic\, iPSCs\, and 
 neuropsychology techniques or data analysis.\n \nThrough this call the Je
 rome Lejeune Foundation will also support the organization of conferences\
 , workshops and courses.\n \nWho can apply:\n\n\n	researchers anywhere in
  the world.\n	holding a long term academic appointment in a hospital\, uni
 versity or research laboratory.\n\n \nFunding and duration: \n\n\n	Pilot 
 or exploratory grants: max. EUR 40’000 for up to 24 months for early sta
 ge experiments built on preliminary data\, or to ancillary projects to pri
 mary larger projects. Clinical projects could benefit from more funding.\n
 	Advanced grants (2-4 grants per call): max. EUR 80’000 for up to 24 mon
 ths for larger breakthrough projects with preliminary data.\n\n \nEligibl
 e costs: personnel costs (up to 50% of the grant)\, equipment\, materials\
 , 10% overhead\, administrative costs/services\, travel and meeting.\n \n
 Deadline: 10 August 2019 close of business (two calls per year in March an
 d August\; the next call will be dedicated to both Down syndrome and other
  rare intellectual disabilities from genetic origin)\nReview by the Scient
