DESCRIPTION:Aim: Since 1985\, the Alzheimer's Disease Research (ADR) pro
 gram has awarded nearly $120 million to support promising research in fiel
 ds ranging from molecular biology to genetics to epidemiology. BrightFocus
  provides research funds for U.S. and international researchers pursuing p
 ioneering research leading to greater understanding\, prevention\, and tre
 atment of Alzheimer’s disease.\n \nThe goal of the program is to accele
 rate our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying Alzheimer
 ’s Disease and related dementias as well as innovative approaches to bet
 ter diagnose\, prevent or delay the progress of the disease. Preference is
  made for exciting pilot projects that would not\, at their present stage\
 , be competitive for large government or industry awards.\n \nDuration: 3
  years\n \nFunding: USD $300’000\n \nEligibility: The Principal Invest
 igator (PI) position is open to tenure- and non-tenure track investigators
  of any career stage who are appropriately trained to lead an independent 
 research study\, and are permitted by their organizations to manage grants
