CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Melanoma Resear
ch Program (VRP) for 2019. The Concept Award supports the exploration of a
highly innovative new concept or untested theory that addresses an import
ant problem relevant to melanoma. The Concept Award is not intended to sup
port an incremental progression of an already established research project
but\, instead\, allows Principal Investigators (PIs) the opportunity to p
ursue serendipitous observations. This award mechanism supports early stud
ies that have the potential to reveal entirely new avenues for investigati
on.\n \nTo meet the intent of the award mechanism\, applications to the F
Y19 MRP Concept Award must address research in one or more of the followin
g Focus Areas listed at the end of this announcement.\n \nFunding:
     Maximum USD $ 75’000\n \nDuration:      1 year\n \nEligibil
ity: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligi
ble to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictions. All investigator
s at or above the level of postdoctoral fellow (or equivalent) are eligibl
e to be named as the PI of the application.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applica
tions are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contac
t information\, a list of collaborators and key personnel\, a Letter of In
tent\, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full applica
tions (by invitation) will be made via a Grants.gov workspace. Full applic

magenesis\, Host Factors\, and the Tumor Microenvironment (e.g.\, melanoma
  instigators\, UV exposure\, other instigators)\n	Melanoma Primary Tumor E
 volution (e.g.\, dormancy\, heterogeneity\, metabolism\, epigenetic dysreg
ulation\, cell death)\n	Therapeutic Prevention (e.g. interruption of disea
se progression\, recurrence)\n	Minimal Residual Disease (e.g. chemoprevent
 ion\, micro-metastasis)\n	Rare Melanomas (e.g.\, uveal\, acral\, leptomeni
