DESCRIPTION:The Fritz Thyssen Foundation supports scientific conferences i
 n Germany or at the international level with the aim of facilitating the d
 iscussion and analysis of specific scholarly questions as well as fosterin
 g cooperation and networking of scholars working in the same field or on i
 nterdisciplinary topics.\n \nApplications can be filed in the following a
 reas of support:\n\n	History\, Language & Culture\n	The interdisciplinary 
 field “Image–Sound–Language”\n	State\, Economy and Society\n	Medic
 ine and the Natural Sciences\n\n \nApplications must have a clear connect
 ion to the German research system:\n\n	German scientists working on the pr
 oject and/or\n	non-German scientists being affiliated to German research i
 nstitutes and/or\n	research topic related thematically to German research 
 interests.\n\n \nConferences should have max. 15-20 speakers. Congresses 
 or larger conferences or sections within the framework of symposia\, annua
 l conferences\, etc.\, or purely doctoral workshops or summer schools cann
 ot be supported.\n \nWho can apply: applicants holding a PhD and based at
  a university or research institute anywhere in the world.\n \nFunding: t
 ravel expenses for speakers\, accommodation costs\, meals for participants
  and speakers\, up to EUR 1’000 to defray incidental conference costs (p
 rinting of flyers and posters\, conference support by student helpers or a
 ssistants\, rental of conference rooms etc.) and childcare costs incurred 
 during the conference. The foundation does not cover speakers’ fees and 
 overheads.\n \nDeadlines: 28 February\, 31 May\, 31 August\, 30 November 
 (every year).\nDecision: 8-10 weeks after the call deadline.\nEarliest sta
 rt: at least 6 months after the call deadline.\nFor further information an
