DESCRIPTION:Research stipends from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation are an ins
 trument used to support highly qualified individual junior scholars that h
 ave doctoral degrees over a limited period of time.  They are to be offer
 ed the opportunity to fully concentrate on the research project they have 
 selected.\n \nThe Foundation supports projects at universities or non-pro
 fit research institutions in the following areas of support:\n\n	History\,
  Language & Culture\n	The interdisciplinary field “Image–Sound–Langu
 age”\n	State\, Economy and Society\n	Medicine and the Natural Sciences\n
 	Interdisciplinary projects are also welcomed.\n\n\nApplications must have
  a clear connection to the German research system:\n\n	German scientists w
 orking on the project\,\n	non-German scientists being affiliated to German
  research institutes and/or\n	research topic related thematically to Germa
 n research interests.\n\n\nWho can apply: postdoctoral researchers who hav
 e received their doctoral degree no more than 2 years before the call dead
 line.\n \nFunding and Duration: € 1\,800 per month for 1-2 years + a lu
 mp sum allowance of € 200 per month for material and travel costs. Does 
 not cover overheads.\n \nRolling call: applications for stipends can be s
 ubmitted at any time. An answer is generally provided within 8 weeks.\n \
