DESCRIPTION:The Fritz Thyssen Foundation offers financial support to defra
 y travel expenses that are directly related to projects in the humanities\
 , social sciences or biomedical fields\, namely:\n\n	History\, Language & 
 Culture\n	The interdisciplinary field “Image–Sound–Language”\n	Sta
 te\, Economy and Society\n	Medicine and the Natural Sciences\n\n \nApplic
 ations must have a clear connection to the German research system:\n\n	Ger
 man scientists working on the project and/or\n	non-German scientists being
  affiliated to German research institutes and/or\n	research topic related 
 thematically to German research interests.\n\n \nWho can apply: applicant
 s holding a PhD and based at a university or research institute anywhere i
 n the world.\n \nFunding for travel costs and allowance (have a look at t
 he daily and monthly rates for the respective country of travel). Does not
  cover overheads.\n \nRolling call: applications for travel grants may be
  submitted at any time. Normally a decision can be reached in 8 weeks.\nFo
