DESCRIPTION:The UK-based charity\, Wellcome Trust\, launches a one-off res
 earch grant to support groups of researchers who want the time and resourc
 es to shape the direction of their future work.\n \nThe research developm
 ent programme you propose must:\n\n	lead to a significant and sustainable 
 research agenda that takes risks and pushes academic boundaries.\n	develop
  the careers of the people in your research group.\n	build a diverse and c
 ollaborative research community.\n\n \nIn your application\, you must giv
 e a clear outline of how you will develop a research agenda and support th
 e careers of people in your research group. \n \nWho can apply:\n\n\n	Em
 erging or established research groups anywhere in the world\, who are work
 ing in health-related humanities\, social sciences or bioethics. \n	The l
 ead applicant must have experience in running a research programme or netw
 ork\, or in delivering complex projects. \n	1-6 co-applicants at any care
 er stage.\n\n \nFunding and duration: GBP 1 million for 3-5 years.\n \nE
 ligible costs: the PI can ask for part of her/his salary\, provided that t
 he host institution confirms that the PI’s salary must come from externa
 l grant funding (contact research@epfl.ch) and that the PI commits at leas
 t 10% of the time to the project. Other eligible costs are personnel\, con
 sumables\, equipment\, open access charges\, travel\, conference\, meeting
  and other project-related costs. Overheads are not eligible.\n \nTimelin
 e of the call: \n\n\n	Deadline for preliminary applications: 3 March 2020 
  at 17:00 GMT. Submit your application to research@epfl.ch at least 7 days
  prior to the deadline to obtain an institutional letter of support.\n	Sit
