 chers throughout Switzerland from diverse fields of Biomedical Engineering
 . The meeting provides an overview of the current state of Biomedical Engi
 neering in Switzerland and offers an environment for a productive exchange
  between participants. The meeting will follow our long-standing and succe
 ssful format\, which combines invited lectures by research leaders with sh
 ort presentations from young scientists. The 2012 annual meeting will focu
 s on novel approaches to biological engineering with sessions on stem cell
  and tissue engineering\, microengineering\, and synthetic biology with ou
 tstanding speakers.
