DESCRIPTION:ETHZ - the leading house for SERI bilateral science and techno
 logy cooperation programmes with China\, Japan\, South Korea and the ASEAN
  region - offers Innovation Partnership Grants to support the establishmen
 t of cooperation between Swiss researchers from universities\, universitie
 s of applied sciences or public research institutes with non-academic inno
 vation agents in China (incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan)\, Japan\, South Korea 
 and member states of the ASEAN. These non-academic agents can be corporate
 s\, SMEs or start-ups\, innovation parks or similar entities with a focus 
 on applied sciences or technical development.\n \nThe call is open to all
  scientific disciplines and fields of research. \n \nInnovation Partners
 hip Grants can support activities such as:\n\n	planning a joint R&D projec
 t proposal for submission to a national or international innovation-relate
 d funding agency (e.g. Innosuisse).\n	establishing long-term consulting or
  training partnerships between two institutions (e.g. management training 
 for an Asian innovation agent conducted by a Swiss university of applied s
 ciences).\n	pilot technology or product development activities (e.g. creat
 ion of a prototype integrating Swiss knowledge)\n	reverse engineering proj
 ects (e.g. extraction of knowledge from Asia for educational purposes)\n\n
  \nThe applicants have to explain how the project can generate benefits f
 or Switzerland and the partner country in the long run. Projects must go b
 eyond one-way transfer of knowledge.\n \nWho can apply:\n\n\n	All senior 
 scientists of Swiss federal and cantonal universities\, universities of ap
 plied sciences and universities of teachers’ education\, as well as publ
 ic research institutions\, are eligible to apply. The Swiss scientist is t
 he main applicant.\n	Innovation agent partners in China\, Japan\, South Ko
 rea or the ASEAN region must be senior staff affiliated with a company\, s
 tart-up\, innovation park or similar agency in one of the partner countrie
 s.\n	Universities from the partner country can participate as third partie
 s.\n\n \nFunding and duration: max. CHF 20’000 for up to 12 months.\n\n
 \n	Eligible costs: a roundtrip economy ticket\; accommodation costs and co
 nsumables or equipment for meetings\; workshop costs\; partial salary cost
 s only for the author of a joint proposal to be submitted to a larger fund
 ing agency.\n	These grants do not cover research projects\, salaries of th
 e PI and doctoral students or exchange of young researchers.\n	A financial
  contribution of each partner is expected and must be made explicit in cas
 h and in-kind.\n	Industry partners must cover their own cost.\n\n \nDeadl
