DESCRIPTION:The European Research Area on biodiversity and ecosystem servi
 ces (BiodivERsA) is an ERA-NET initiative supporting research on biodivers
 ity and ecosystem services across 23 EU and associated countries\, includi
 ng Switzerland (via the SNSF). BiodivERsA is co-funded by the Horizon 2020
  ERA-NET COFUND scheme of the European Commission. It supports transnation
 al and collaborative projects via annual calls.\n \nThe 2019-2020 call fo
 cuses on Biodiversity and Climate Change.\n \nThis call covers the follow
 ing four non-exclusive themes:\n\n	Consequences of climate change on biod
 iversity and nature’s contributions to people\;\n	Climate-biodiversity f
 eedback processes\;\n	Potential of nature-based solutions for mitigating a
 nd adapting to climate change\;\n	Synergies and trade-offs between policie
 s on biodiversity\, climate and other relevant sectors\, and the role of a
 gents of change.\n\nBiodivERsA promotes the engagement of stakeholders all
  along the research process.\n \nFor Swiss-based applicants and co-applic
 ants: \n\n\n	proposals with overlapping funding periods with ongoing SNSF 
 grants are only approved if the research projects pursue different goals i
 n the context of this programme.\n	Swiss applicants may participate in at 
 most one BiodivClim proposal.\n	The SNSF exclusively funds research conduc
 ted for purposes that are not directly commercial.\n\n \nWho can apply: \
 n\n\n	Teams from at least 3 different participating countries (at least 2 
 EU and associated countries)\, supported by at least 3 different Funding O
 rganisations. Use the BiodivERsA Partner Search Tool to look for a partner
 .\n	Swiss-based applicants: all Swiss applicants and co-applicants must be
  eligible for SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project
  Funding).\n	Consortium partners: partners based outside of Switzerland. T
 hey must apply for funding via their national funding agency.\n\nPlease co
 ntact research@epfl.ch to verify your eligibility for the call.\n \nFundi
 ng & Duration: \n\n\n	for Swiss-based applicants\, the SNSF has allocated 
 EUR 2.6 million for 12 to 36 months for this call. There is no limit to th
 e requested budget per Partner and/or per Project. The eligible costs are 
 the same as for SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Proje
 ct Funding). VAT should be included in your budget. Do NOT include overhea
