DESCRIPTION:\nEach year\, the Swiss Association of Friends of the Weizmann
  Institute of Science supports a number of postdoctoral fellows from Switz
 erland\, enabling them to come to the Weizmann Institute (Israel) for one 
 year.\n \nCandidates may apply for acceptance in any field of research th
 at is pursued at the Weizmann Institute. For information see: www.weizmann
 .ac.il \n \nThe Weizmann Institute of Science\, Rehovot\, Israel is a mu
 ltidisciplinary center of research and teaching in the natural sciences an
 d comprises five faculties: Biology\, Biochemistry\, Chemistry\, Physics\,
  and Mathematics and Computer Science\, as well as the Feinberg Graduate S
 chool. The Institute is located about 20 km south of Tel Aviv.\n \nThe Sw
 iss Society of Friends of the Weizmann Institute is a Zurich-based associa
 tion founded by scientists in 1978 to make the scientific research institu
 te and its work more widely known among Swiss research and industry circle
 s as well as the public.\n \nApplicants must: \n·         Hold S
 wiss citizenship or have Swiss residency.\n·         Meet the aca
 demic requirements of the Weizmann Institute of Science.\n·       
   Have a PhD degree.\n·         Come from a Swiss academic insti
 tution.\n·         Be able to return to an academic center in Swi
 tzerland after their research stay at the Institute.\n \nApplicants must 
 join a letter of support from the department head of the Swiss institute a
 t which the applicant was last enrolled and a letter of invitation from th
 e host professor at the Weizmann Institute. To apply for this fellowship\,
  contact a scientist in whose lab you would like to be trained.\n \nDurat
 ion: 12 months\n \nFunding: The program provides an annual fellowship pai
 d through the Weizmann institute of Science\, which replaces the regular W
 IS fellowship: NIS 9\,408  per month + a travel allowance of $2\,000 per 
 year\, for conferences and professional training.\n \nDeadlines: 31 Decem
 ber and 31 July (every year)\n \nFor further information and application\
