DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Good Food Institute (GFI) is a global nonprofit bui
lding a sustainable\, healthy\, and just food system. GFI and its Science
& Technology Team specifically work to catalyze research and development t
o improve the organoleptic properties\, price point\, and production capac
ity of plant-based and cell-based meat products. To that end\, GFI establi
shed a Research Program in 2018\, made possible by the generous donations
of philanthropic supporters. This program supports essential research desi
gned to solve many of the challenges facing these industries and seeks to
create open-access tools and methods for the development of appetizing\, a
 ffordable\, and widely available alternative protein products.\n \nThis R
FP seeks research proposals that will address the organoleptic properties
 of plant-based and cell-based meat products\, their cost\, and/or the scal
e-up of production processes. Projects may focus on a specific end-use app
lication or the development of novel ingredients\, methods\, tools\, and/o
r technologies. All funded projects will have primary applications to food
products that replace animal-based foods and are intended for human consu
 mption.\n\nFunding:        max. $250’000\n \nDuration:      m
ax. 2 years\n \nEligibility: Applications submitted from any sector (acad
emia\, government\, industry\, nonprofits\, etc.) and from around the worl
d will be considered. Graduate students or postdoctoral researchers may se
rve as the lead investigator on a project\nproposal. If invited to submit
a Phase 2 application\, a brief letter of support signed by a faculty memb
er at the student or postdoc’s higher education institution must be subm
itted.\n \nHow to Apply: The application process involves two steps. Phas
e 1 applications can be completed by any eligible applicant. To complete a
Phase 1 application\, applicants should fill out the information in this
form. Specific instructions for completing a Phase 2 application will be p
rovided to successful Phase 1 applicants at the time they are invited to p
 articipate in Phase 2.\n \nDeadline:      28-Oct-2019\n \nFurther i
nformation\n\n	More information about the program is available here\n	The
application form for Phase 1 can be found here\n	For any other questions\,
